Hilton Hires Uber's Jeff Moore as CTO as Its AI Planner Moves Into Assistants

Hilton named former Uber engineering leader Jeff Moore executive vice president and CTO, starting October 26, as the brand extends its AI Planner into Google and ChatGPT.

Hilton has named Jeff Moore executive vice president and chief technology officer, and the résumé is the signal: Moore comes from Uber, where as vice president of software engineering he led a global organization of 2,500 engineers. He starts October 26, 2026, reports to president and CEO Chris Nassetta, and joins the Executive Committee.

Before Uber, Moore held founding leadership at Fulfillment by Amazon and engineering and product roles on Kindle, Fire TV, and Echo/Alexa. That is a consumer-platform background, not a hotel-systems one. Nassetta said Moore’s expertise will help Hilton move faster and adopt AI, and Moore said he was drawn to Hilton’s ambition to harness AI and new technology. The scale he inherits is large: 28 brands, more than 9,400 properties, and nearly 1.4 million rooms in 144 countries and territories.

The hire follows Hilton’s AI Planner expansion. In August, it extended the planner into Google’s AI Mode, added a ChatGPT plugin, and confirmed a Claude Connector in development, per Hospitality Net. Every one of those integrations redirects the actual booking to Hilton.com, which keeps guest records and loyalty relationships with the brand while buying presence inside AI assistants.

The same brief warned that hotels with inaccurate or inconsistent published information are being filtered out of AI-generated recommendations before guests reach a booking funnel.

For owners, operators, and independents, the read is practical. The largest hotel franchisor is putting an engineering leader at the table where AI priorities get set, and the distribution layer is already moving into assistants. Whatever Hilton builds, your exposure is the same: current, structured, consistent property content and a booking path you control. Audit both before the next assistant-led search sends a guest somewhere else.
